Based in Brooklyn, New York, Reverend Gerard Sauer graduated from the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception with a Master of Arts and a Master of Divinity in theology. During his time in seminary, he completed a master’s thesis, attended parish staff meetings, and participated in various community events. Rev. Gerard Sauer also carried out pastoral visits to members of the parish who were homebound or in the hospital.

Since 2006, Father Sauer has served as an adjunct professor in the theology department at St. John’s University in Jamaica, New York. In this capacity, he taught undergraduate theology courses both online and in person. Responsible for curriculum development, he selects texts for student reading and collaborates with department heads to establish standards. He also prepares outlines and lecture note, grades exams, and provides feedback on student reports.

Reverend Gerard Sauer maintains membership in religious fraternal organizations such as the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre, Cathedral Club of Brooklyn and the Knights of Columbus.
